Every Ontario learning expectation, rooted in faith and readiness.

The school-readiness year

Ready for Grade 1, rooted in deen

Your child meets every Ontario learning expectation without ever leaving their faith behind.

SK builds on the JK foundation through a balanced mix of play and more structured learning. Children consolidate early skills and get genuinely ready for Grade 1: reading simple text, writing words and sentences, and working with numbers — the full Ontario curriculum, enriched with global best practices and taught through an Islamic lens. They think more independently, express ideas with confidence, and continue building digital skills with age-appropriate technology.

The Four Learning Foundations

The full Ontario curriculum, taught through Islamic values

Belonging and Contributing

Ontario focus, delivered in full

Children work through the full Ontario expectations for deeper friendships and teamwork, taking responsibility in the classroom and community, understanding fairness, diversity, and their role in a group.

The Islamic lens

These same expectations are taught through Islamic character: a confident Muslim identity, belonging to the ummah, practising adab in real situations, cooperation, generosity, and caring for others, modeled on the Prophet's (PBUH) example.

Self-Regulation and Well-Being

Ontario focus, delivered in full

Children meet the full Ontario expectations for stronger emotional regulation, focus and stamina for learning, refined gross and fine motor skills, healthy and safe choices, and growing independence.

The Islamic lens

Self-regulation is supported by dua, dhikr, and gratitude. Children grow into a firmer, more independent wudu and prayer routine, with cleanliness and healthy, halal habits woven into everyday faith without reducing Ontario learning goals.

Foundations of Language and Mathematics

Ontario focus, delivered in full

Children receive the full Ontario foundation in systematic phonics, early reading of simple texts, writing words and short sentences, expanding vocabulary, number sense to 20 and beyond, patterns, sorting, measurement, and early addition/subtraction concepts.

The Islamic lens

The same language and math growth is enriched through an Islamic lens. Children continue structured Quranic Arabic progress, including letter joining and reading, memorize more short surahs and daily duas, build Islamic vocabulary, and extend numbers and patterns through Islamic geometric art.

Problem Solving and Innovating

Ontario focus, delivered in full

Children engage the full Ontario expectations for inquiry, reasoning, early STEM and coding/patterning concepts, creativity, and independent problem-solving.

The Islamic lens

Inquiry is guided by wonder at Allah's creation through tafakkur: observing and questioning the natural world as signs. Children design, build, and create through Islamic art and thoughtful problem-solving while continuing to meet Ontario expectations.

Is SK full-day or half-day?

How is SK different from JK?

SK builds on the JK foundation with more structured school readiness: reading simple text, writing words and sentences, stronger number sense, more independence, and a steadier Quran and prayer routine.
